In Stephanie�s family, it was always the men who were into sports and weight lifting while Stephanie was the one who played the piano, sang in the choir, acted in theatre and just shopped with the rest of the girls! But when Stephanie moved to Texas for work, it was so hot and she hated being chubby and did not feel comfortable in small clothing. Before Stephanie joined the gym she would never wear a bikini in public this was her goal and while she had no interest in competing in bodybuilding she began lifting weights. It was solely to loose a few pounds and look cute in some different clothes. Stephanie began weight training with a trainer and as she began to tone up she loved the powerful look that the muscle was giving her. Not only that but it added confidence to her personality. Her next step was to gain a personal training certification through NASM and she wanted to learn all she could about how the body reacts to resistance training and different eating patterns. After receiving her certification, she began personal training at her job where she could coach others to reach their goals as she had done but by then, she was ready for a new challenge. Her trainer, and now dear friend, looked at her one day and said "woman, you're doing a competition� you're ready for the next level." At the beginning Stephanie thought "NO WAY!" Well now look at her! She absolutely loves the feeling of pushing heavy weight and having a hard, toned body. With only two years of training and two competitions under her belt, her muscle maturity is still lacking� but she�s working on that! Stephanie credits her family who has backed her 100% and has been introduced to an amazing nutritionist/coach who has dedicated so much to her as a competitor. Now Stephanie has the eyes of desire to continue competing in hopes to one day to turn pro. We will be watching Stephanie on her journey.
